Salary Theorem!

August 3, 2009 at 6:58 pm 8 comments

Dilbert’s “Salary Theorem” states that “Engineers and scientists can never earn as much as business executives and sales people.”

This theorem can now be supported by mathematical proof based on the following two postulates:

Postulate 1: Knowledge is Power.

Postulate 2: Time is Money.

As every engineer knows: Power = Work / Time.

Since Knowledge = Power, then Knowledge =Work / Time.

Since Time = Money, then Knowledge =Work / Money.

Solving for Money, we get Money =Work / Knowledge.

Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity, regardless of the amount of work done.

Conclusion: The less you know, the more you make.

What do you say?

Though I’m lost and confused, I do find the “Money approaches infinity” part very interesting 🙂

    ~ LOL

    Good one! Chain mail?

~ Yeah, it’s out of way for me to invent this theorem 😉

Good enough to satisfy one’s own self, obviously if he’s an engineer or a scientist :-P. “Dil ke khush rakhnay ko ghalib ye khayal acha hai…” 🙂

~Bilkul sahi, Thanks for the comment and Welcome to my blog 🙂

hahaha…I love it! There is a similar theorem which goes to show that women are evil…but lets not go there 😉

    ~ Aha, clever 😉

It lost me halfway through too! Wonder who came up with this!

But yeah, since I’ve started working, I can attest to that. The lesser the knowledge, the more the dough!

House in Paradise!

Narrated AbuUmamah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good.(Sunan Abu Dawood,Book 41, Number 4782)
