    Pigs do have necks.

    See this:

With all due respect, what really gets me “perved” are these scientific explanatons for some religious phenomena.

One says that the Islamic way of slaughter is good because uric acid is allowed to flow; fine, I’ll accept that.

But then why do you need to pronounce God’s name before slaughtering? That doesn’t do anything to the uric acid, does it?

I personally don’t like to connect science where it doesn’t belong. We slaughter this way because Allah told us so. We don’t eat pigs because Allah told us so. We say Allah’s name when slaughtering because he told us so.

    ~~ OK, Accepted!.
When is it necessary to slaughter the animal in the name of God?
The answer is in the Quran:
The animal offerings are among the rites decreed by God for your own good. You shall mention God’s name on them while they are standing in line. Once they are offered for sacrifice, you shall eat therefrom and feed the poor and the needy. This is why we subdued them for you, that you may show your appreciation. (22:36)

So, we need to mention the name of God for sacrificing animals. Clearly, the purpose of killing animals or birds just for eating is quite different than the purpose of sacrificing animals.

There is always the reason behind DO’s and DONT’s in Islam and some can be explained in the manner by providing Scientific facts. I just say that Quran is a book of Signs not “Science”. If anything has proved to be correct then check and relate it with Quran and SubhanaAllah you will find it.

Great to see your concerned efforts:)

House in Paradise!

Narrated AbuUmamah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for a man who avoids quarrelling even if he were in the right, a house in the middle of Paradise for a man who avoids lying even if he were joking, and a house in the upper part of Paradise for a man who made his character good.(Sunan Abu Dawood,Book 41, Number 4782)
